How Life Coaching Can Help You Be More Successful in Your Business

Life Coaching has experienced a steady growth since it emerged fully in the 1950s. Through sports and athletic coaches, people came to understand the value of coaches. Their role was to monitor every thought and action that could undermine the player and, instead, motivate them to their peak performance. Coaching, at its best, is the art of bringing out the greatness in people.

The life coaches of today concentrate on results, rather than principles or theories surrounding the problem. This is done with the help of teachable sets of principles, knowledge, and skills. The goal is to build confidence in an individual by guiding them through self-discovery. They will find blocks and patterns of thought or behavior that they don’t necessarily know how to work with. Life coaching guides a person to be aware of their actual needs, which I call “goals” and “intentions”, as well as the ways in which they can realize them in their business and personal life.

One of the powerful tools I use with my clients is the Enneagram. This is perfect for guiding them in their fulfillment of their intentions and goals for life. It is a simple system that quickly (and with uncanny accuracy) reveals the motivation and strategies for the decisions and choices we of every day. It is a profound tool that uncovers the patterns and blind spots that keep a person from seeing the clear path. The Enneagram is one of the most cutting-edge tools available today to enhance your human potential in all areas of your life. Its effects are faster, deeper, and have longer-lasting results.

For those new to the Enneagram, there is evidence it has been around since the 4th century. Today, it is used worldwide in every professional and academic field. The system identifies nine core life strategies, consisting of emotional- and thought-habits that each of us use to navigate life. The Enneagram is very different from personality tests or even typical diagnostics. It’s a rich system that gives one access to much deeper self-awareness and how you apply this knowledge to the intentions and goals for your business and your life.

The 9 types are well-documented, and once you have identified your type, you will have a custom roadmap for self-awareness and self-development. Unlike many of the current “self-help” books and approaches that tend to advocate one overall approach for all, the Enneagram fits you. It reveals what creates reactivity, stress, and upset in yourself and others.

It’s great to know what is keeping you from your best game, yet we all know we are not islands. Achieving our goals and intentions in the business environment includes interacting with others. Pretty much everyone around us is stuck in something, too! The bonus is that your investment in life coaching organically translates to a higher level of communication and interaction with others, and in turn supports and amplifies the fulfillment of your goals and intentions.

I have found that clients work best from aspiration and inspiration; my intention is to elicit my clients’ most genuine aspirations, and then inspire, going in-depth with forward momentum.
